Roche Secondment for SapoCycle

Roche supports SapoCycle

SapoCycle has paired up with the pharmaceutical and diagnostics company Roche as part of their micro-secondment programme led by the Corporate Donations & Sponsoring team.

Since 2007, the Roche secondment programme has been a win-win-win initiative for participating NGOs, employees and Roche. It consists of a skills-based volunteering programme for employees to work collaboratively NGOs to improve health. This volunteering programme combines the capabilities and skills of Roche and its employees with those of NGOs to build capacity, deliver sustainable outputs and escalate impact.

We began this six-month secondment with Roche last May. The aim of this collaboration is to help us develop a handbook that will enable us to start our social franchising in other countries.

The idea is to reproduce our already successful Bubbles Saving Lives Programme operating in Switzerland and France and take it to a local context in a new country through the format of a franchise. This combines social impact and financial sustainability.  We are already talking to interested partners who are willing to replicate in Europe.

For our organization, this would be a big step in our growth journey. The main aim is to increase the number of hotels around the world that can give their discarded soaps a new life and therefore widen our reach by supporting more people in need with soap.
